I have spent about 5 years coming to Rhodes with the family and bought my kites with me each time, I drove to Prasonisi every day and only once did I have no wind. The beach is a 100 m wide sand bar, which you can drive onto, so, if you want, you can park your car where you launch your kite. Because of the sandbar, the wind is either dead onshore with some waves/ramps which can be quite fun, the other side is dead offshore where the water is perfectly flat. One advantage is that there are many kite schools located here with inflatable boats keeping an eye on everyone so you won’t get drifted out to sea. The sea here is about 24 degrees so no wetsuit is required.

Prasonisi Rhodes

Getting there – fly to Rhodes
Pros – Perfectly flat water, very warm location
Cons – not much happening there apart from kiting.

El Medano, Tenerife a great location with all year round wind, wind is cross on from the left, a great location and home to ex world champion Mark Shinn.
