for swimming?

Even if you aren’t a professional surfer, you can still experience the benefits of wearing a wetsuit in the swimming pool, sea and ocean. In short, you can wear a wetsuit for any water activity, including swimming, diving, surfing and water aerobics.

Why should you wear a wetsuit?

There are slight differences between women’s and men’s wetsuits in design, but the suit material is the same – neoprene. Women’s wetsuits are narrower than men’s in the shoulders and wider on the hips, thighs and the chest area. Neoprene provides better buoyancy and warmth for the person wearing it. The design and material are adjusted for activities in cold water, but if you plan to swim in very cold water, wearing a wetsuit is not recommended. The same goes for water with a temperature which is higher than 80 degrees.

Kids wetsuits

If you are planning a family trip, you should use kids wetsuit for extra protection from the cuts and bruises children can get in the water. In any case, make sure you wash and clean wetsuits properly to enhance durability. If you don’t clean your kids wetsuits after pool and sea swimming, the chlorine and salt from water can damage it, so you should wash it after every use with some mild detergents suitable for neoprene. Also, if you go sailing, wetsuits are a great choice for reducing the wind and keeping your kids warm.
