The redesigned centre concave enhances speed and control, helping the Shim glide efficiently and maintain momentum through the wave. Additional tail channels provide drive, grip and stability, allowing riders to carve more confidently and generate stronger turns. This combination creates a balanced riding experience, offering the directional control associated with surf-style boards alongside the looser, more playful characteristics of a skim-style wakesurfer.

A new drop-in centre fin makes adjusting the board's setup quicker and more convenient. The Shim comes equipped with two 3.5-inch Torq fins and a 2.9-inch Drop Fin, allowing riders to experiment with different levels of grip and manoeuvrability. The additional centre fin provides extra directional stability when required, while adjusting the fin setup allows riders to explore a looser feel for surface tricks and freestyle progression.

Hyperlite has also increased the Shim's volume, helping the board sit higher in the water for a lighter, more buoyant riding feel.
